Part One...
Tea and hospitality
"Every student who graduates, has to donate a book to this library"
A simple need, a simple solution
they sit in the day, they get mattresses at night
they get treatment
so, they never complained
A nice call to tell us how important we are
and a really lovely dinner with the Dean and his wife
An eye-opener
to the lives in a post-war nation
a free-for-all, no-closed-doors healthcare system with underpaid yet amazingly dedicated doctors
where Professors and Tuk-tuk drivers tells us how long they hope Sri Lanka will become like Singapore
How our leader used to say he wished for us to be like them and how much damage even a civil war can cause
and the genuine niceness of the people. No threat, no cheating
And God was with me. Thank you for me meeting amazing Godly ppl like Dr Arul.
for the peace in the prayers that he and my boss gave
and for such fruitful lessons
and for bringing me home
