Ive always thought that the media of Sg is a tool for propagating the govt's desires. (yeah i do have my skeptic citizen moments too)
ok, i'll loosely associate the govt to public service.

Apparently, if you have read the full report on todays TNP front page news. this celine gal of a reporter apparently proved herself worthy to join the kopitiam ah-pehs' group of self-gratifying-lamentations-of-the-government-support-network.
It amazes me how a reporter, good enough to post a front page story, fails to get her facts right. how she willingly descends to the kopitiam-pehs' skewed perspective.
This is a court case. The magistrate has already passed the judgement.
So Ms TNP reporter thinks she has a way to tell the world that her judgement is better?
or rather, seow-guy was the victimised little angel!!
had she went through the appropriate channel, (No, Ms TNP. not by just approaching anybody in the courtroom to ask for comments), she would have known that
- this seow-guy had caused obstructions to his neighbours, who sought help from the regulatory authority
- this seow-guy has time and again appealed, but due to his gungho-thrill-seeking nature, refused to comply with any instructions about his offences
- he claims to want to seek redress in court, but ball-less-ly crawls to his MP right before the court date, to make the entire department adjourn his court date for close to 10 times.
- when his case was fixed for mention, he claimed trial. Applause for that heroic act. HERO LEH... he challenged authority leh!! he dare to stand up for rights lehhh... but when the trial date arrives, everyone was prepared and waiting in the court, HE FAILED TO SHOW UP.
duh! this guy has a warrant of arrest against him because he even disrespected a court mention enough to abscond.
Has this guy no MALICE?
And You, Ms TNP, to portray him victimised by regulations, when all he showed was blatant disregard of laws and to others?!
Go splash ur face with water, and quit
